Kyle W. Taylor, DDS
Dr.Taylor received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University (Atlanta, Ga.) in1983. While at Emory he received the Periodontal Award for having the top clinical grade in his class, and was also nominated by the dental faculty into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor dental fraternity.
In 1983-84 he completed an optional General Practice Residency program at Charlotte Memorial Hospital (now Carolina's Medical Center) where he treated a variety of medically compromised patients as well as patients with trauma to the teeth and jaws. Afterward he went into private practice in the UNCC area.
Dr.Taylor assists with the Communities in Schools' The Partnership for Children's Dental Health by providing complimentary dental care to underserved Charlotte-Mecklenburg children, and frequently participates in their annual Give Kids A Smile day, which is also sponsored by the Charlotte Dental Association.
In 2009 he completed 216 hours of intensive coursework over nine months at the Triangle Dental Institute in Durham, NC. and is eligible for induction into the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). The coursework provided extensive classroom and hands-on training in the surgical and restorative aspects dental implantology as well as periodontology (gums and supporting structures).
Dr. Taylor is a member of numerous local and national dental associations, and attends continuing education on a regular basis.
A Charlotte native, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating in 1979 with a BA degree in Chemistry.
He and his wife Linda live in Cornelius. He enjoys kayaking on the lake, casual biking, hiking, reading, photography, action movies, and playing with their Maltese terriers Jake, Cosmo & Shiloh.
